As the water at my house is Complete and Utter Fail, my partner and I have been thinking of getting a shower filter. Does anyone have any experience with them? Any brand suggestions (preferably ones I can get in Australia)?

I just moved in to a place with hardwood floors. And they are, well... not in the greatest condition. This place was originally occupied by a group of college/just out of college aged guys. I need help on trying to convince my husband to get a dehumdifier. Our washer has been leaking and I am worried about mold and mildew growing. His response is well if it happens we will just clean it (which in his world involves some crazy chemicals). My landlord has proposed using copper sulfate to treat the mold in my ceiling following a plumbing leak. I was told that I would need to vacate the premises for 24-48 hours because of a "strong smell." Does anyone know anything about the potential toxicity and off-gassing of this substance?
